Disclaimer¶
This disclaimer explains the status and limits of the CapOps project.
CapOps is a proposed operating discipline, cultural practice, and independent community framework. It is not an official Microsoft product, Microsoft methodology, Microsoft capacity-guarantee program, FinOps Foundation extension, or established industry standard. It complements FinOps and does not replace it.
Contributors speak for themselves. The project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft, the FinOps Foundation, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or any other cloud or infrastructure provider.
All guidance is general. Available services, quotas, reservation mechanisms, regional supply, commercial terms, and support processes vary by provider, service, location, resource type, and time. Validate decisions against current public provider documentation and contractual terms.
Never place confidential customer information, nonpublic provider information, internal capacity status, credentials, or personal data in this repository.
Limits of the guidance¶
CapOps does not guarantee capacity availability, a delivery date, recovery success, savings, or regulatory compliance. References to supported capacity-reservation mechanisms apply only within the documented product conditions; the framework adds no contractual assurance.
Quota is an administrative limit, not physical inventory. Forecasts are demand estimates. Service availability in a region does not prove fulfillment of every quantity, zone, or date. Financial discounts and capacity reservations may be separate products. Resilient architecture and multiple regions do not establish that recovery capacity will be available.
Examples are fictional and quantities are illustrative, not provider availability statements or industry benchmarks. Measurement targets and maturity ambitions are organization-defined. Provider names and trademarks are used for factual identification only; no trademark rights or endorsement are granted.
